End of the Year Kindergarten Party

The bonus of me being on maternity leave right now is that I have been able to attend alot of class parties and school functions for both kids.  It's been great!  Anniston's kindergarten had their end of the year party last week.  She was so excited that I could make it :)
They colored a frame for their "photo booth" picture to go in to
Then they went around and autographed everybody's frame
 She was so focused
Photo booth with Kennedy.....see how tall our Anniston is?!?!
 Silly girl!
 Snack time!
Brecken chilled out, and did great!  One of the other Momma's wanted to snuggle her.
 Best big sister EVER!

 Now for a silly picture!
Anniston and Mrs. Hulsey....seriously, she was the BEST I could have ever asked for.  I honestly just prayed for a teacher with a kind heart and loving spirit.  She exceeded my wildest dreams of a perfect teacher.  She loved Anniston, encouraged her, and challenged her.  She would text me pictures of Anniston doing projects, and email me just to check on me during the pregnancy.  She would ask me if it was ok to challenge Anniston when she thought she could handle it.  Anniston did several AR books (which means nothing to me yet), but apparently it's something they start in first grade.  Anniston scored 5/5 on every test!  We are so proud of our sweet little girl!  She excelled so much this year.  She learned 1,000 sight words (then moved on to 1st grade phrases), is reading chapter books, decomposed up to the number 18, and is writing 6-8 line stories with proper capitalization and punctuation.

I cannot believe we are parents of a 1st grader!!!

Mommy/ Son Date Knight

Chick-Fil-A hosted a Mommy/Son Date Knight last week.  The theme (obviously) was that the boys were our knights, and they protected their princess.  Treyson was SO EXCITED for his date.  I had laid some clothes out for him, so I told him to start getting ready.  He came into my bathroom naked stating that he needed to take a shower if he was going on a date with me.  So, he showered.  Then he added this "handsome" vest and church shoes (loafers).  I had to put gel in his hair, and spray Dadoo's cologne for him to walk through so he could smell "handsome"
Then, Treyson asked if he could pick out my date clothes.  Of course, he went for the bling shirt that I wore about 15 pounds ago.  So, I stretched it over my belly, added a cardigan, and made it work!  Then he picked out my necklace and told me to take my hair out of the ponytail holder because it looked a little too crazy. (we may have to work on some of his dating skills down the road!)
Getting a kiss from my oh so handsome date!
After dinner, we went to Target to return a couple of things.  Treyson picked out 2 new shirts for summer.  Then we went to the Cookie Company to get everybody a cookie and icee to take home.

What an awesome date!

Keystone 2012

During the kids' Christmas break, we headed to Keystone, Colorado for our first family ski trip.  Jerry grew up skiing as a child and into teenager years.  He wanted our kids to learn while they were young too (while they have no fear).  We were asked over a year ago by some precious friends of ours to go on a family vacation to ski with them.....and the rest is history.

We had an absolutely fabulous time, and they were such a fun family to travel with.  The kids all had somebody to hang out with, and in the future, Brecken will be able to play with their youngest daughter (who didn't make the trip because she was only 1 1/2 years old).

This is the day we arrived in Colorado.  We hung out in Golden, Colorado Friday night, and our check-in was on Saturday.

All of the kids playing "Headbandz" game
Day 1.....feeling like the Michelin man?!  We don't dress like this very often ;)
 Breakfast of champions....
 So excited!
Clint, J, and B all ready to go!
Walking into ski school....they did great!

Dadoo's making sure the kids are situated so he can hit the slopes.  He hadn't been skiing since we were seniors in high school (we won't count what that equals!)

 Going up the "magic carpet"

You can see how hard it was snowing if you look in this picture at the trees.  I'm amazed at how well the kids picked up on skiing.
New Year's eve....just hanging out on an electrical box so we can watch the fireworks!
Mommy was 24 weeks pregnant with LB3, so no skiing for me.  I would make the family appearances for evening activities....and I did hit up the spa twice :)
 Happy New Year!

With their instructor.  The kids did 3 days of ski school, and were skiing blue runs with Jerry the following 2 days!
 Treyson and Dadoo!

All 3 of my loves going up the magic carpet.
Snowmobiling time!  This was a gift we gave the kids for Christmas.  They were so excited!

Group picture with the L family!

 Next adventure? TUBING!

Snow fort/castle on top of the mountain

 Cold Mommy!
 Headed back down the Gondola
Last day, we hit up the ice skating rink, which is on a real pond.

Treyson didn't care much for the ice skating
Anniston, however, was very determined to do well....and she did!
T just hung out with a hockey stick and puck!

What a fun vacation for all of us.  The kids were total rockstars on the slopes!  Jerry had a blast skiing with Clint, and I enjoyed my massage, facial, pedicure/manicure, and getting to be the paparazzi for the week....captured such precious memories.

We came home worn out, with a window that had to be duct taped up because the motor broke (when it was down--of course), and a couple of broken ribs for Jerry.  That was the not-so-awesome part of the vacation.....but the good ABSOLUTELY outweighed those few things!

Next vacation?  Must be warm, sunny, and serve drinks with umbrellas!
