Now I lay me down to sleep....

We say prayers each night. Usually Treyson goes to bed before Anniston. So we will all go into Treyson's room as he's getting ready to lay down and we all put our hands on him as we say the night-time prayer. Treyson has also become very good at praying before meals.

Well, Jerry's at a softball game (double header actually) tonight, so I'm solo. I had Treyson in my arms and layed him down. As I was grabbing his blanket, I looked down at his hands and they were folded....he was waiting on me to pray! How sweet is that boy?!!! So of course I prayed for him right then and there, then grabbed Anniston to stage a photo op!!
Anniston and Treyson, we love our prayer time with you two. Anniston, you are so good at saying the blessing before meals. You also say the Night time prayer and Lord's Prayer perfectly. We are so proud of you. Treyson, you fold your chubby little hands whenever it's time to pray and you sit quietly until "AMEN". And you can always rest assured that your Mommy and Dadoo pray every night to God and thank him SO MUCH for you two, the best two little blessings he's ever given us!
We love you,
mommy and dadoo

1.....2.....3.....

Isn't there an episode in Brady Bunch where Marsha brushes her hair 100 times to keep it beautiful? That's all I could think of tonight after I dried Anniston's hair and she wanted to comb it herself over and over. She is such a girly girl! (and I LOVE IT!!!!)

Easter Egg Hunt III

My Mom took all of the grandkids (except Taylor--we missed her!) to Hardscrabble for the Easter Egg hunt and brunch on Saturday morning. The kids got lots of eggs, and the food was very tasty.

Here's a pic of mom and kids waiting on them to tell us to start hunting!Michael and Anniston being silly in front of the water fountain
Anniston and Treyson waiting patiently for lunch

Anniston spotted the Easter bunny as soon as he walked in the door. She ran up to him to see him....she was SOOOOO excited! Treyson, however, wouldn't go near the thing. If he sensed you were walking that way while holding him, he'd take a death grip on you and then scream if you were within 10 feet or so!

MaMa and PaPa,
Thank you for taking us to the club for Easter egg hunting and lunch. We had such a great time! And Dadoo had fun playing golf in the icky, drizzly weather. We love you!
Love,
Anniston and Treyson

Easter Party at Big Girl School!

Anniston's Easter party at her school was on Friday afternoon. She was so excited, particularly because Mommy signed up to bring cupcakes!

Here she is with her best buddy, Baylor!
The whole class sang their Easter songs for the parents

The kids' craft project at the party was a bunny mask.....then they all suddenly turned into bunnies!!

Isn't that the sweetest bunny you've ever seen??

Hunting at Mrs. Amber's

Mrs. Amber had her Easter Egg hunt at her house last Thursday evening. Mrs. Amber babysat Anniston until she was 2, and now she's Treyson's sitter. The weather was beautiful, and she had hid LOTS of eggs for the kids to find.

This was Treyson's first time to hunt an egg....he was SOOOOOO proud of himself!

Anniston kept looking at me to make sure she didn't get too many. I told her in the car on the way there that she couldn't hunt alot because we needed to leave plenty for the little kids. Her response was, "Ok Mommy, I'll get 5." Well, for 6 kids (one not hunting because she's 4 months old), there were about 50+eggs, so needless to say....she got alot of eggs. The little kids quit hunting so Mrs. Amber told her to keep on going!

About halfway through the hunt, Treyson ditched his basket, eggs, and candy and started to run like a madman....he's such a little boy!
Thank you Mrs. Amber for the fun time at your Easter Egg Hunt 2010! We had a blast!
Love, Anniston and Treyson

sunshine!!!

We are LOVING this weather we've been having! The kiddos got their Gator from Santa, and it's had to sit in the garage for most of the past 4 months. We've had that "truck" (as treyson calls it) out and about every nice day that we've had the past 2 weeks. Anniston does most of the driving now. She's very good at steering and reversing too. The kids are so cute together on this. They'll drive from the garage out to the backyard, and make pit stops along the way (ie: get out to order ice cream, make stops at school, go to the library). I just love the imagination!! And then they'll drive over to me to give me hugs and kisses, then drive off! I have to be careful not to squeeze them too much!! So sweet!

Treyson gets in the drivers seat every once in awhile, but Anniston has to lean over to steer (which she'll do), but she really just prefers to drive!
By the way, after dropping close to $100 on weed/grass killer concentrate and 3 hours of Jerry's time, the yard (thankfully) does not look like this anymore!! haha

Happy Birthday....

I find myself pouring over pictures trying to find just the right picture to put out here today. I took about a bazillion (seriously) pictures while Jerry played football his senior year. But this picture entails pure happiness with our entire family. Football took our family all over the SEC every weekend, and the memories we have from that time are so precious to us all. It doesn't hurt that this picture was taken after a win, too!! Today is Leah's birthday....the 5th birthday that we have not been able to celebrate with her here on earth. You know, you find yourself always thinking about loved ones that are no longer with you....but times like holidays are always so tough, but you just try and figure out a way to think positively on the situation. I think that the time surrounding Leah's birthday is hardest holiday for me personally, because birthdays for her was what she lived for. When Jerry and I first started dating, I thought it was hilarious how the entire day better revolve around Leah on her birthday, or somebody was gonna pay. And she was funny about it, but seriously....it was all about her! As Jerry and I continued to date, get engaged, get married, Leah's birthday's moved from BirthDAYS, to Birthday weekends, to Birthday WEEKS. I can't help but laugh through tears right now thinking about it, and then of course I tried it out because if she could convince everybody to treat her like a princess for an entire week, why can't I? I never was able to pull it off the way she did, but I sure gave it a good try!

One year, Jerry's parents were at a baseball tournament for Matt in Conway. It fell over Leah's birthday. Jerry and I were building our house that year, and we worked every weekend at the house. Mark and Leah drove out to see us that morning. As soon as they walked up to the house, I yelled out "Happy Birthday" to her (knowing full well that it was the first thing she wanted to hear out of our mouths), and she crossed her arms and looked at Mark and said, "That's 7". I asked what that meant, and she said, "You're the 7th person to wish me a happy birthday, and I still haven't heard from my parents." By mid-afternoon, she was getting so irate that she called her parents' house singing "Happy Birthday" to herself on their answering maching.....just trying to pour on the guilt. That was the Leah we loved.

We talk about Leah alot to the kids. We feel that it's important for us to be able to say her name, and Anniston and Treyson to know exactly who she is and where she is. During our "God Bless" list at night, Anniston always includes "God, Aunt Leah, and PePaPa in heaven" in her list. (PePaPa is my mom's dad who passed away just weeks after Anniston was born)

So, to Leah. CHEERS! I know that you're getting toasted by all of the angels today in honor of your birthday. And we are here toasting you (with our box of wine--inside joke). We love you, miss you, and we're living each day to the fullest knowing that we are nearing our day when we will see you again in heaven!

Love,
Jerry, Amy, Anniston and Treyson
