So, we finally got our kids in for their yearly check-ups. Better late than never, right?
~
Anniston:
Weight 45 pounds....90th percentile
Height 43.5 inches...97th percentile
~
This chick is going to be tall! (but was there ever really any doubt that she would be? haha)
~
Treyson:
Weight 31 pounds...75th percentile
Height 37.8 inches...90th percentile
~
This dude should be tall too. If you double his height, he's predicted to be fully grown just shy of 6 foot, 4 inches!! YIKES!
~
Also, Dr. B said that he should be putting 2 words together at this point. He was very impressed by Treyson's vocabulary and how clearly he speaks (even though he was about 5 days into this stuttering phase he's going through). I told Dr. B that I thought he was putting more than 5 words together, and he didn't doubt it. So the other day in the car (after the appointment), I counted a phrase that Treyson said.
~
"Dadoo wears a helmenet at the football game, Mommy?" (yes, I know I misspelled helmet, but Treyson pronounces it hel-me-net...so funny) He says 9 words in a row...must be a genius...haha! Way to go Treyson!
~
Both kids even got their flu mist (yes I chicken out and give them that over the shot--ouch!)

Trick or Treat!...Tyson Foods style...
After Anniston's Halloween party at her Preschool, we headed to Jerry's office to Trick-or-Treat. The kids had fun, and Dadoo had fun showing off his little Ariel and Sebastian.
Walking into Dadoo's office....I just love this picture!
So excited!! Anniston was coaching Treyson on saying "trick or treat" the entire way to the office. Treyson's going through a phase right now where he stutters (too many words in his vocab and his mind is thinking faster than his mouth. Anniston did the same....I freaked out with her, and even had a speech path evaluate her....so I'm not worried with T....this will pass!). So, Treyson says, "Mommy, I say "Twi-twi-twi-twi-twi-twi-twi-twick0-tweet?" I say, "Yes Treyson, you say Trick or Treat. And then what do you say when they give you candy?" T, "Mommy, I say tank-oo". LOVE HIM!!
Anniston's Preschool Party & Trick or Treating!!
Anniston had her preschool Halloween Party on Friday as well. They had a "carnival" theme. I ran the "fishing pond" booth. There was bean bag toss, basketball toss, BINGO, 2 art tables, and create-your-snack table too. That's where I was able to catch a couple of pics of Anniston when I got a break!! Yummy!
The kids walked up and down Emma Street Friday morning and trick-or-treated at several of the local businesses. It is so nice of them to open their doors to the kids. The kids walked all through their businesses and offices, and I think that the workers there enjoyed seeing all of the cute kids as much as those cute kids loved getting some candy!

Halloween Party at Mrs. Amber's
Treyson's babsitter, Mrs. Amber, had her Halloween party for the kids last Thursday. Fortunately, I had switched work days and was able to bring Treyson to her house for the party and get pictures! YAY! The kids had cupcakes, juiceboxes, and iced homemade sugar cookies made by Mrs. Amber. Treyson was one of 2 kids that actually took the time to put icing on his cookie and then eat the cookie. The rest of the kiddos put the icing directly into their mouths! haha

Light Your Candles!
One year and almost 10 months ago, a friend of Jerry and mine's brother lost his life in an automobile accident. His car lost control on an icy morning...
~
I started to follow his wife, Bonnie's, blog ever since. Her faith in God is absolutely amazing, and she always makes me want to better myself for God, for Jerry, and for my kids. For that, I am forever grateful.
~
Bonnie did a post a couple of months ago called "Light your Candles". I have posted a link so that you can read her blog entry, but I'll give you the Cliff's Notes. As a mother, wife, daughter, we are waiting for just the right time to create those "picture perfect moments" with our friends and family. What are we waiting for? Our kids will be grown up and loved ones may not be here. So, bust out the china, blow into the crystal glasses to get the dust out, clean later and enjoy the now....and Light Your Candles!!
http://sweetcarolinebaby.blogspot.com/2010/09/light-your-candles.html
So, for our fancy meal on Monday evening, we had BBQ ribs and steamed corn. Jerry and I also might have had a small glass of "Mommy and Dadoo juice". The candle was lit in the middle of the table (albeit a candle from Carmen's Candlery in Ft. Smith that we got as a WEDDING SHOWER gift = 7-71/2 years old!!)
At the time Jerry hadn't read Bonnie's blog, so I had to fill him in when he inquired (quite nervously I might add---he probably figured he had "won" and we were going to have another baby...haha!) why the fanciness. I told him that we've been married for 7 1/2 years, and we've used our crystal glasses and china plates 2 times...for our first and second anniversary dinners. I registered for all of this stuff because I (I'm not even going to lie and say "we") LOVED it....so why are we not USING it more often?
~
The kids were so excited to see the lit (and nicely scented) candle glowing in the middle of the table, and Anniston even got to drink out of a "fancy" glass. Treyson was still confined to his plastic tableware--haha!
~
Thank you Bonnie. You are amazing, and I constantly pray for you, your kids, Thomas, Thomas' family, and the new path you are walking today.
~
So, Bonnie's challenge to her blog readers was to "Go light your candles". I did, now it's your turn!

Gift of the Irish
Jerry and I spent last weekend in Southbend, Indiana and attended a Notre Dame football game (much more on that later!!!). As we were walking through the unbelievably large bookstore, Jerry spotted something he HAD TO HAVE for the kids. It's the book called "Let's Go, Irish". It's the same setup as "Hello, Big Red" (which happens to be both kids' favorite book.....maybe because Jerry forced it on them nightly as babies!!). He was super excited to be able to read it to them Sunday evening before bed.
There's just something about Jerry reading to both kids that absolutely melts.my.heart, and makes me fall even more in love with him.

Spook E. Face
The kiddos and Jerry carved the pumpkin this evening. Anniston wanted a SCARY face, so Jerry went to work. This was the first year that T-man participated, and he was hilarious!
Here's the kids with Spook E. Face (Anniston wanted to name it Alicia--some girl off Diego? My actual response to her was, "Seriously, Anniston....that's really not a pumpkin name is it?" So now my question to myself is, "is there really such a thing as a pumpkin name?" hmmm.....)
BEWARE: This next pic is VERY SCARY!!

Treyson digging out the "guts"

Anniston LOVED the slimy feel of the "guts"

Ok, so the hilarious part of T-man: He HATED sticking his hand into the pumpkin to pull out any seeds and stringy stuff (aka: guts). He would stick his hand in there, get out the tiniest handful, and flick it all of quickly and be saying, "Yuck" while doing so. He definitely did NOT like the feel of it. yet, he would do it several times....maybe he thought it would feel different the next time?? Who knows! He cracks us up!
