Happy 1/2 Birthday Treyson!

That's right. . . he is officially 6 months old. And he is sleeping soundly (for now) with a 101 degree fever.

We celebrated Treyson's half birthday with an outing to the new Target in Rogers. He was great at the babysitter's all day, and so we didn't think a thing of it. He didn't eat near as much jar food this evening, but that's never a "oh my goodness, he's sick" sign or anything. We messed around Target for awhile, and he was starting to fuss in the car. I put together his bottle and reached back (I was in the passenger seat) to feed him. He didn't want anything to do with it--now that's weird. He just turned his head, closed his sweet eyes, and went to sleep. We got home, and I was getting him out of his carseat and kind of wondered why he was sweating so much. Well, he wasn't...he was running fever. He ate his bottle, took some Motrin, and he's asleep now. This is our first sickness with him, so cross your fingers that he sleeps ok, and that this fever goes away!

So, more about our 6 month old. He is an absolute doll that I could just kiss and snuggle (he is a GREAT snuggler) to pieces.

~He eats 5 ounces per feeding....5 times per day
~He eats cereal with juice mixed in and a jar of fruit for breakfast
~He eats cereal with juice mixed in and a jar of veggies for lunch
~He eats 4 stage 1 jars of food for dinner. We just graduated him to stage 2 foods yesterday, so I don't know how many of those he'll go through each evening.
~He eats green veggies now!!
~He drools like crazy and has a new (month old) "spit up" thing going on. Always when you least expected....I was supposed to be wearing green scrubs today, and I ended up at work in red scrubs thanks to Treyson!!
~He still sleeps the usual 11-12 hours. However, we quit swaddling him last Friday night, so now he'll roll onto his belly and he's wet all the way up to his chest in the mornings...pee-yew! If anybody has advice on this, I'll take it. We had this same issue with Anniston b/c she slept so long too.
~After his last bottle, we get him burped, walk into his room and give him kisses. We lay him down on his side with a little lovey, close the door and never hear a peep until we wake him at 6:30 the next morning. . . so easy!
~He loves bathtime with sissy. He giggles through alot of it just watching her sing and play.
~He's a great car rider...not so good at the initial strap-in, but it improves after he's settled.
~He sits up to play (I still keep my leg out behind him just in case since we've got the hardwood floors)
~He rolls from back to belly, and belly to back very easily.
~He can spin in circles on his belly
~He's scooting in reverse!!
~He loves the exersaucer
~He moves a little bit in his walker
~He wears size 6-9 month.
~He is VERY chunky (we don't have our well-child appt until late March, so I have no specifics!)
~He has found his thumb (a hygienists worst nightmare!), and we are working tirelessly to make sure this does NOT become a habit. He never took to the pacifier, but I may try and force one on him if it's between that and the thumb!

We sure have enjoyed our sweet bubby for the past 6 months. We can't believe that he's so old! Anniston asked if he was going to have a party for his half birthday (just like her Dadoo...always looking for a reason to get a cookie cake!).

Treyson, we love you so much and are thankful for all of the joy you've brought to our lives. We love you, buddy!

Love,
Mommy and Dadoo (and sissy too!)

Happy 6 months Treyson!! As far as with the diaper thing we have the same problem with Lily Ann! What we have started to do is we buy a small pack of the next size up diaper and put it over her other diaper at night and that seems to help and catch the overflow! You might want to try that to see if it works for you!

We had the same problem with Deacon... peeing thru the night diaper. I have 2 suggestions. Huggies actually makes an overnight diaper that has more padding up front. We use these now and haven't had any problems. The second is to try a maxipad - yes i said maxipad- but it works! pull the back off and stick it towards the upper portion of the top of the diaper - horizontally - so its across the whole front. its usually enough to catch all the overflow, plus you can pick how much "protection" you need! Just don't tell Jerry that Treyson is wearing a maxipad!
Happy Birthday Treyson!

Thanks for your suggestions! We have been buying the next size up, and he seems to fill that diaper up and then some! I will definitely discuss the whole pad thing with Jerry. I'm willing to try anything that frees me from my daily sheet and mattress pad cover washing!
